About the J-1 Internship & Trainee Programs
The J-1 Visa is a U.S. cultural exchange program that allows international participants to gain hands-on professional experience while discovering American culture and improving their English.
J-1 Internship – Designed for students currently enrolled in a post-secondary hospitality/culinary program or recent graduates (within 12 months). It focuses on developing practical skills that complement your academic studies.
J-1 Trainee – Designed for young professionals who already have a degree and at least 1 year of relevant work experience, or a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the field. It focuses on advancing your career through structured, supervisory-level training.
These programs are full-time, 6–12 months and follow a structured training plan approved by a U.S. Department of State–designated sponsor.
Position Overview
Global Career Bridge is recruiting Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage, Rooms Division, and Hospitality Rotational J-1 Interns/Trainees for partner 4- and 5-star hotels, resorts, and restaurants based in Miami/Ft Lauderdale, FL (with a strong focus on Florida and major tourist destinations).
You will join a U.S. hospitality team, rotate through key operational departments, and follow a structured training plan that builds both technical skills and leadership competencies.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for motivated, internationally minded talent who:
Are currently based in an EU country (citizen or legal resident)
Are studying or have completed a degree in:
Hospitality Management
Culinary Arts / Gastronomy
Tourism / Hotel Management
Restaurant Management or related fields
Or have relevant hospitality/culinary work experience (for Trainee level)
Have a good command of English (spoken and written)
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment
Are open to learning, cultural exchange, and teamwork

Program Costs & What’s Covered
For this program, the host employer covers the core program costs, including:
J-1 program/sponsorship fees
Mandatory health insurance for the duration of the program
Support with the DS-2019 form and training plan through our J1 Visa Sponsor partners
The participant is only responsible for:
Application fee: USD $500 (non-refundable once accepted)
SEVIS & U.S. visa fee (paid directly to the U.S. Consulate)
Airfare to/from the United States
No additional program fees are charged by Global Career Bridge or the host company.
